Year Six Camp Reflection 12/5/12

· Something I was pleased with was making it through the bikes.

…because I would not show determination.

· I really enjoyed learning new was safe cycling.

…because it would help when i’m older.

· Something I found hard was getting to Napier.

...because it was 40km.

Cricket Reflection

Cricket Reflection 11/21/12
· Something I was pleased with was my great underarm.

…because it looked really strong.

· I really enjoyed learning new was the overarm.

…because I wasn't good before I started.

· Something I found hard was hitting wickets.
...because it always went in an angle.

Safe cycling

Be Seen - Wear high visibility or brightly coloured clothing and use lights.

Be Aware - Watch for car doors opening, potholes, rubbish, grates, and pedestrians. Always check for left turning vehicles.

Be Predictable - Make eye contact with other road users. Maintain a straight line and don’t pass on the left hand side.

Be Confident - Use hand signals and a bell. Ride at least one meter from parked cars. Use the cycle or traffic lane.

Be Safe - Follow the road rules and choose the safest route.

Be Patient - Slow down near parked or lined up vehicles.

Pass slowly and only when safe.

Be Prepared - Wear an approved helmet and check your bike regularly - brakes, tyres, chain, lights, reflectors.
